A new DC compound made of lactose and starch is now  commercially available.

To evaluate the interest of such a product it has been compared to a physical blend of DC lactose and native starch.

Considering the fact that native starch is not well adapted to the direct compression, comparative trials of the compound versus a blend of other DC excipients (spray dried lactose and partially pregelatinized starch) were done.
