The PBP 7th World Meeting on Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology was held in Malta from March 8th to 11th, 2010.
From its beginning in Budapest in 1995, this scientific meeting has been the place where experts from industry and academia meet for cooperation and discussion on pharmaceutical sciences. This year, around 1 000 participants, mainly European experts showed up and discussed, in a very optimistic atmosphere, new opportunities on different topics such as progress in solid dosage form development and manufacturing, modified oral release, challenges in paediatric dosage form development…
On this occasion, Roquette Pharma presented scientific posters on some top fields such as:
- Hyper branched Starches – A new carbohydrate class: Results of an in vitro digestion study,
- Comparison of native starches as tablet disintegrant,
- A novel method for measuring the swelling effect of disintegrants in tablets and its swelling speed.
A particular focus was given at the exhibition to some of the most versatile of Roquette’s excipients, notably:
- LYCOAT®, Roquette’s breakthrough in polymer development specifically designed for fast and simple aqueous film coating.
- KLEPTOSE®, cyclodextrins for molecular encapsulation & solubilisation.
- PEARLITOL® Flash, a mannitol compound designed for the formulation of orodispersible tablets that disintegrate directly in the mouth without the need for any additional water.
- DC Polyols range, which offers the flexibility needed for formulations that open up markets. Aroma, texture, sweetness…
